“In broad terms, my paintings are of abstractions moving through air and moisture. The manner in which I compose each piece is intuitive. I see abstract images in my mind’s eye and then research references within that format… I recognize beauty as a necessity for balance.”

Valerie Taglieri exhibits a marked sensitivity and care with mirror-like surfaces that embody a staggering variety of colors, built from successive layers of transparent oil glazes.

She received her M.F.A. at Columbia College and a B.F.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Valerie exhibits her work extensively and her work resides in numerous public and private collections.
